As Susan is a regular swimmer with her dogs I’ve asked her to organise the swimming sessions on my behalf. So please contact her for more information or to book. (telephone : 0141 891 5884 email: beaniethebeagle@gmail.com)
Can your dog swim? Would you like to get him involved in a fun new activity that will keep him fit and could save his life one day? Contact Susan to find out more
As many of you know we hold regular fun swimming sessions and they are very popular with dogs and owners. We have access to a large dog hydrotherapy pool and we are able to offer club members swimming lessons and fun swimming sessions at affordable prices. Our lovely heated pool is 4 meters by 3 meters and has water jets to help give your dog an extra workout - not to mention a lovely massage! Your dog will wear a life jacket until he’s completely comfortable in the water, and will have a handler in the pool with him at all times. A trained hydrotherapist is present at all times.
Please note that whilst we are using a hydrotherapy pool the club is only offering swimming for healthy dogs. We are NOT providing therapy for sick or injured dogs. You will be required to have your vet sign a form to say that your dog is fit to swim.

Beanie and Sophie having a ball
This is Beanie who was afraid of water when introduced to swimming at our last pool party - that’s her owner in the pool with her:
There are many benefits to swimming. Obviously it’s important that every dog can swim as it may save his or her life one day. But over and above that it’s a fantastic form of exercise that will really help build muscle and ensure that your pet’s joints are taken through the full range of motion. Pet hydrotherapy is becoming popular amongst people with sporting dogs as it can give them the extra edge, and also with show dogs as well developed muscle is obviously desirable. But perhaps most importantly for the dogs it can be great fun - even for dogs who naturally aren’t inclined to jump in the water for a swim.
